Meet Mayor Wagner and her family

I have been very involved in Ponca City for the past twelve years, and have served on several boards including Ponca City Main Street, Ponca City Art Association, BisonBison Film Festival, Ponca City Arts and Humanities Council, and the Ponca City Chamber of Commerce’s Executive Board. I was a part of Leadership Ponca City in 2014, and Leadership Arts Oklahoma in 2016. During my time on the Ponca City Main Street board, I led the effort to form an arts district in downtown Ponca City, which has helped change the landscape of downtown. I was appointed by Mayor Homer Nicholson to the Ponca City Planning Commission in August of 2020, served there for two years. In 2022 I ran for, and was elected to the Ponca City Commission in seat #1 and have proudly served in that capacity since.​

I am married to Jay Wagner, and together we have two boys, Pierce and Noah, ages 17 and 15. Jay works at Phillips 66 in Operations, and also served in the Army National Guard for 7 years. Jay was deployed overseas in 2009, and served our country as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Jay is the Scoutmaster for BSA Troop 524 which is chartered by First Lutheran Church, and his troop is also responsible for the Flags Over Ponca City program which promotes patriotism by posting flags at homes in Ponca City on 5 flag-flying holidays per year. Jay and I also own and operate Rivershire RV Resort. 

Business Experience

I have an associate degree in Mass Communications from Northern Oklahoma College, and a bachelor’s degree in Administrative Leadership from the University of Oklahoma. I have an interdisciplinary background in business, with experience working in manufacturing, farming, non-profits, banking, technology, and design. I own MyMediaMatters, a digital creative agency, and in 2020, I launched Ponca City Monthly magazine, a hyperlocal lifestyle and leisure publication that shares positive stories about Ponca City and Kay County. I also do public speaking engagements and teach time management skills at various business workshops and conferences.
