To the Editor,
I don't typically write letters to the newspaper or engage on social media, but today, I am compelled to speak up and offer my unwavering, wholehearted support for Kelsey Wagner as the next Mayor of Ponca City.
Ponca City has been fortunate to have strong, dedicated leadership in the mayor's office and on the city council for many years. I am proud to see that Kelsey Wagner has earned the trust and respect of our community through her service as a current city commissioner and, more recently, as vice mayor—a position to which her fellow commissioners unanimously elected her. These roles reflect Kelsey's ability to work collaboratively, her steadfast integrity, and her deep commitment to the future of Ponca City. I believe it is the leadership we need as we move forward.
As a long-time resident of Ponca City with children and grandchildren living here and as a local business owner of Greenwood Aerospace, I take this election very personally. Kelsey's vision for Ponca City's future is one I believe in deeply. We need a fresh perspective to help us thrive in this fast-paced, complex, and increasing digital world.
Kelsey and her husband Jay, a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom, are raising their two boys, Pierce and Noah, here and are active local business owners who deeply understand our community's unique challenges. Together, they own and operate several ventures, including My Media Matters, a digital creative agency, the Ponca City Monthly magazine, which shares positive stories about Ponca City and Kay County, and River Shire RV Resort. Their investment in these businesses and raising their family here demonstrates a genuine commitment to protecting Ponca City's progress.
Having lived in Ponca City for 58 years, I've seen firsthand how critical strong, visionary leadership is to our city's growth and success. Like any community, Ponca City will face its challenges in the future, just as we have in the past. But I'm confident that Kelsey's proven leadership is exactly what we need to navigate those challenges.
We need a mayor who is focused on real solutions—someone who can inspire us to unite behind a shared vision. Kelsey is that leader. She has the experience, the heart, and the drive to lead us into the future, and I have no doubt she will rise to meet any challenge we face.
I wholeheartedly endorse Kelsey Wagner for Mayor and strongly encourage my fellow citizens to support her in this election.
